Hi, I’m Matt Holten — also known as The Back Pain Guy.

I’m not a doctor or a chiropractor — I’m someone who lived through chronic, debilitating back pain for most of my adult life and finally found a way out.

I’ve studied corrective exercise, biomechanics, nervous system regulation, nutrition, ancestral health, and more. I’ve tried all the “mainstream” advice, and I’ve spent thousands of dollars and years of my time learning the hard way that most of the techniques out there don’t get people very far when it comes to their back pain. What I teach now is based on what actually works — what has worked for me, and for others, in real bodies, with real limitations — not just theory, hype or wishful thinking.
